Air New Zealand Engineering

Are you interested in becoming an engineer?

Passionate about aeroplanes and looking for a practical job that allows you to use your hands and your brain? We will need 100 trainee engineers over the next two years at our Auckland and Christchurch bases.

Working as an aircraft engineer with some of the most sophisticated machines in the world has never been more achievable. Become a licensed engineer and the door will open to global opportunities in an industry growing at more than 10% per year. What's more you can earn twice the average salary as new graduates once you qualify.

So if you enjoy making things, fixing bikes, modifying cars and even tinkering with lawnmowers this might be the career for you. There are few mechanical engineering careers that value and reward the ability to problem solve as much as aviation.

You're about to make a big decision on your future career.

It's not easy and the choice you make needs to be the one that's right for you. One day you will be working, in fact spending half your life at work. Imagine getting out of bed for the next 50 years doing something you hate.

So ask yourself:

WHAT DON'T YOU WANT?

  • I don't want to just study books for the next 4 years.
  • I don't want to be in debt.
  • I don't want a boring dead end job.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

  • I want to earn good money.
  • I want to use my brain.
  • I like thinking of new ideas.

WHAT EXCITES YOU?

  • Aeroplanes.
  • Travel.

If you like pulling things apart and putting them back together again, then a career in Aviation Engineering might be right for you.

The National Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering is designed as an entry-level qualification leading to employment and careers in aircraft engineering and further training within the aviation industry. The Certificate teaches aircraft engineering knowledge and trade skills, and employment and work skills, common to other engineering fields.
